February and March Meetings
Our February meeting topic was Orchids. Sue Schneck presented and gave lots of great practical advice on raising beautiful flowers. She transplanted an orchid and showed how to divide it first and then replant it. She had a great sense of humor that everyone appreciated.
Our March meeting speaker was Bonnie Oliver who featured all aspects of seed starting! She did a great job of showing us all the tricks of how to plant all kinds of seeds so that we can grow all kinds of plants for our gardens.
We discussed the Silver Lake Nature Center Fall Festival to be held on September 15th and our Garden club plans with the Festival committee giving their report.
Our Garden Club Secret Garden Tour is scheduled to be held Sunday June 24th. Anyone with a Garden they wish to show can still volunteer it to have their garden shown. No “perfect” gardeners need apply!!! Just happy gardeners who would like to share their garden with others is the only requirement!
